Go to your iPhone’s Accessibility prefs
Launch the prefs app andtap on the Accessibility menu.
Audio & Visual configs include a Always Show Volume Control section.Slide that toggle on.
The slider will also adjust if you press the physical volume controls on the side of your phone.
iOS 18.2 brings a lot of changes and tweaks to your iPhone, particularly to the Photos app.
