Reviewing thebest gaming monitorsis one of the best parts of my job.
Thankfully, I got to test out a truly unique one in 2024.
At first glance, theLG UltraGear 32GS95UE-Blooks like a typical 32-inch gaming monitor.
It’s kind of basic.
However, it has a feature thats rare for such devices.
Like theAlienware 27 4K, LGs monitor allows you to switch between two refresh rates.
In this case, 4K at 240Hz and 1080p at 480Hz.
Ill explain why below.
Its 32-inch OLED display delivers a vivid image thats great for both gaming and work.
While this isnt a cheap gadget, its worth the price for what it offers.
Fast performance
Lets start with performance since this LG UltraGear monitor offers two refresh rates.
Again, 4K at 240Hz is made for cinematic games likeElden Ringwhere immersive visuals are paramount.
And while I noticed the drop from 4K to 1080p resolution, it didnt negatively impact my overall experience.
If not, you’re able to switch to 240Hz mode and enjoy the 4K goodness.
Hues are generally oversaturated, which makes colorful games like Doom Eternal andCyberpunk 2077truly pop.
That said, the colors arent as overblown as on the Acer Predator X32 FP.
In that sense, LGs hues hit the middle spot of being oversaturated but still naturalistic.
32 inches is my preferred size for a gaming monitor.
Tasteful design
The LG UltraGear 32s practical design doesnt immediately identify it as a gaming monitor.
While this might be a turn-off for some, its a bonus since I prefer electronics with understated designs.
Im also a fan of the flat and wide stand which keeps the monitor in place.
Similarly, the monitor shaft has an opening you’ve got the option to tuck cables through.
Gliding the monitor up and down along its stand is also pretty easy.
And thanks to its design, it should also blend in nicely with your overall gaming setup.
A handful of other monitors also have this feature, and I suspect well see even more in 2025.
