Id go as far as to say The Rental is among the darkest thrillers Ive seen.

Soon enough, shocking secrets come to light, and these four friends are forced into a nightmare situation.
Lets just say that these people arent exactly the best example of healthy personal relationships.
Its a powder keg waiting to explode.
One of the movies biggest strengths is it crafts a genuine sense of paranoia.
I also appreciate The Rentals willingness to go dark, like really bleak.
If youre looking for a thriller with a bit of hope, then Id advise you to steer clear.
However, its audience score is more polarizing at 47%, but Im not surprised at this rating.
Its bleak third act, and extremely flawed characters, were always going to alienate some viewers after all.
But I think dark thriller fans will enjoy it.
Its definitely a flick genre fans wont want to miss.
