I like RGB lighting as much as the next person, but come on!
However, often my keyboard does much too little to give me any advantage whatsoever.
The Corsair K70 Max boasts Hall Effect magnetic switches.
It’s a hybrid that’s putting gaming boards to shame, and I can’t put it down.
Magnetic attraction
Some of my favorite keyboards to review are the ones that have Hall Effect switches.
This tech doesn’t come cheap.
The Corsair K70 Max boasts Hall Effect magnetic switches.
Take theCorsairK70 Max, for example.
I just had to give it a shot, price aside.
Starting with the looks, the model I tested has a beautiful white aluminum case, with green-accented keycaps.
It is a thing to behold.
Laying my fingers on the keys for the first time was like seeing an old friend again.
On top of this, its full metal case gives it a truly epic quality and high durability.
It’s well deserving of the 4.5 stars I awarded it in myKeychron Q1 HE review.
After adjusting the actuation, I was able to get my accuracy up above average, too.
The possibilities are mind-blowing.
Take the quad actuation points setting, for example.
Name another keyboard that lets you do that (except theKeychron K2 HE).
The Q1 HE also offers last key prioritization and rapid trigger.
The former means that when two buttons are pressed, the keyboard will prioritize the most recent key input.
The best choice for you?
Remember when I said that Hall Effect doesn’t come cheap?
The Keychron K2 HE packs the same Hall Effect switches and technology as the Q1 HE, but for $130. It doesn’t have a fully metal case, but does come in a beautiful Rosewood edition for $140.
Well, that’s not strictly true.
However, not all elite Hall Effect keyboards cost that much.
This is of course theKeychron K2 HE, currently ourbest gaming keyboard.
It’s safe to say that the Keychron Q1 HE will remain at my desk for the foreseeable future.
