The processor also allows the iPad Air to have many of the sameApple Intelligencefeatures as theiPad Pro M4.
But if you need a pseudo-laptop in a pinch, this peripheral serves its intended purpose.
If you’re already rocking M2, you don’t need this upgrade.
But the iPad Air M3 is unmistakablytheiPad to get for most people.
Find out why in my full review.
The new iPad Air keeps the same design as its predecessors.
It’s as elegant and sturdy as ever.
This tablet doesnt have FaceID, which is a bummer.
As before, the iPad Air comes in four colors: Blue, Purple, Starlight and Space Gray.
Im fond of Blue, but our review units Starlight is also quite nice.
A trailer forSeverance season 2also looked fantastic, with its solid contrasts and smooth motions.
Whether its reading books or watching videos, the iPad Airs display shows everything at its best.
The iPad Air M3 offers the same color reproduction, color accuracy and brightness as the previous model.
Its also on par with a competitor like the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9.
The slate also packs 8GB of RAM.
The iPad Air M3 can adeptly handle multiple open programs.
M3 features like hardware-accelerated mesh shading, ray tracing and Dynamic Caching also helped this game look phenomenal.
The Galaxy Tab S9 trailed behind both Apple tablets in these tests.
While the tablet didnt last that long in our testing, it came pretty close.
Apple Intelligence
The iPad Air M3 packs a slew of Apple Intelligence features out of the box.
As I wrote last year,Writing Tools is my favorite Apple Intelligence feature.
It can proofread, rewrite and change the tone of what youve written.
For example, you’re able to make your writing sound friendly, professional or concise.
If you dont like the changes made, you’re free to hit revert.
Image Playgroundis another Apple Intelligence feature I enjoy using on iPad Air.
While it cant create photorealistic images, it does well at generating simple pictures.
it’s possible for you to either key in out prompts or speak them out loud to Siri.
Though I still prefer OpenAIsDall-E 3for image generation, its nice having such a tool built into Apple Intelligence.
Speaking with the new Siri is somewhat hit or miss.
Apples digital assistant can handle basic things like telling you the weather or a restaurants location.
However, its peripherals, some of which are necessary for specific tasks, dont come cheap.
It also has a larger touchpad that feels more MacBook-like.
The peripheral also has passthrough USB-C charging.
The typing experience isnt half bad, even if you have big hands like I do.
The snappy keys have nice travel distance, and the responsive touchpad also feels good to use.
This is a great peripheral if it’s crucial that you use the iPad Air as a laptop replacement.
The biggest downside of these otherwise fantastic peripherals is their respective prices.
As for the Apple Pencil, you could opt for the more affordable $79 entry-level model.
My only real complaint isnt with the iPad Air itself, but with its pricey peripherals.
Sure, you dont technically need the Magic Keyboard or Apple Pencil Pro.
But theyre vital tools, especially if youre an artist.
